Getting things rolling. - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Getting things rolling.   Getting things rolling. - Page 2 EmptySun May 09, 2010 11:14 pm

Woxy heard the sound of footfalls behind her, faster that the average human had. They were harder on the ground than someone her age, she she guessed it was Trisha. She wasn't sure if she wanted to talk to Trisha or not; she knew that Trisha would convince her not to go. She didn't want to stop, she was determined in running. Instead of stopping she increased her speed, her feet whipping over the grass and dirt ground with lightening movements.

Slowly... Really slowly she heard the sounds of Trisha fading behind her. Woxy knew that Trisha was far behind her now but she still ran, running faster and faster as the seconds ticked by. The wind was pulling her hair out of the small bun in was tied in, she heard the whoosh as she sped by small plants and tall trees.

She hardly ever used her inhuman speed or strength on an average day, she tried to be as normal as possible. But now... She was going to use it.

A fallen log had fallen on the path before, leaning slightly on a tree; she could hear small insects crawling and buzzing around inside it. She was going to fast to stop so she launched herself at the tree and used the momentum to push her self from it. The end resulting in her being past the log and her smiling slightly with the exhilaration of the run.

Her hearing sharpened so much that she could hear a deer laying down for a nap in some thin grass ahead of her, a few ten feet in front of her. She was past it in a flash.
Woxy could hear the twitches of leafs moving as the animals of the forest started stirring: bird chirping, rabbits nibbling delicately on a a berry, a ladybug setting itself lightly on a blade of grass, and some hungry squeals of fox pups to their mother in the safety of their small den.

She passed all of it. She wasn't tired, she had the strength to do this all day. The blond girl could feel her feature changing ever so slightly; her fingernails becoming sharp along with her teeth, her agility was already working more than fine.

As all this happened one thought came to her mind. One though exactly.

"What would Dr. Ninja-Pants do?" The sound of her voice was taken by the wind and velocity of her running.

She stopped. Skidding to a halt, with rocks and dirt flying everywhere, She looked around her.

She had never been this far away from home. Never had the time or courage to adventure this far away. But now she didn't care.
Turning around with speed of a cobra she clawed at a tree. Where her fingers had connected with the bark was five DEEP lines carved into it.

It didn't help with the trees situation but it did help her with hers'.

And so she started annihilating the poor, innocent tree.

((Sure, go right ahead. Sammy may join our little messed up family.))

Getting things rolling. - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Getting Things Rolling.   Getting things rolling. - Page 2 EmptyThu May 13, 2010 10:31 pm

Richard cursed the man in his grip. Even with all his anger focused on him, Jeffery still showed no sign of fear. This angered him even further. How dare this human insult him and continue to smile. It was unacceptable.

The wolf inside snarled his disgust and anger. To it no mere human could-would ever get away with that kind of behavior. Dark thoughts flitted from it's mind into Richard's trying to convince him to do things it wanted. Kill the guy. Bite both of his arms off. Rip out his throat. Squeeze his heart and watch it pop like a balloon, blood streaming out of it. Clean his teeth with the tips of his bones.

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill.

Those words flashed in the front of his mind, repeating over and over again. It didn't seem like that much of a bad idea. To the wolf Jeffery was just a simple pinky. No one would miss him if he suddenly vanished. Actually, no one would even know if he did. He was here all alone, no one around, in an empty house, with an angered werewolf. No, not a werewolf. But the werewolf.

The first werewolf.

All the center of his anger could be dealt with in but a small movement. Not even that much energy would be wasted killing Jeffery. The amount to twitch a finger would be enough. More than enough actually. It would all be over.

Minutes passed by, and he made no movement, neither lowering the man, nor raising him higher. The room was dead silent, all except for the harsh breathing from both of the men. Death was imminent in this atmosphere.

But no. If he did that then he was no better than the beast inside him. And everything the wolf was was what Richard despised most. even more than the man in front of him. He did hate him yes, but that didn't mean he would stoop to the of the demon within. It would shatter everything he lived for, everything he was raised for, everything Silena taught him.

Richard sighed, using all his will to resist the wolf's influence. He wouldn't take the easy path of murder. Instead he would do it his way, and his way was nothing like the wolf's. Nothing like the wolf's indeed.

He looked at Jeffery, who he held in the air. "I'm nothing like the mutt you speak of. I'm no more an animal than you are." He spoke quietly, not daring to raise his voice for some reason. "I won't be a monster and kill you with cold blood. That would be against everything I've learned." Even as he said it Richard realized it was true. He could feel the wolf die down, knowing that his time had come and gone. No longer would he harm this human... Now. Instead, he thought of a better way the hunter would helpful. "It's your lucky day because I've just decided to let you live. In fact, I bet you could even play a part in assisting me find my little pup."

Richard grinned, showing all his sharpened teeth.

As the tension in the room started to build, Kax began reaching forward and carefully prying away control from Jeffery. Minutes ticked by as the two had an odd sort of staring contest; Jeff's arms unbound, but the rope still around them and Richard glaring with intense ferocity. Slowly, slowly Jeff's pulse slowed and Kax had a grip on his body.

Still there was silence.

A low growl rumbled through Jefferey's head as Kax tensed for an attack. The demon wasn't willing to launch an attack an the werewolf's mind. He didn't want to make his presence known without a real cause. He frowned slightly, impatient for Richard's response.

More silence. And then, finally, words. Denial. He wasn't going to listen to his wolf. Then the werewolf proposed him to find his "pup." Kax hesitated. He hadn't really been paying any attention to his hunter. He'd learned an unusual trick; he could throw his consciousness into different areas, like France for example. Really quite useful.

Pup? He asked Jeff.

His sort of adopted werewolf girl. Little, cute, blond. Kind of-

Yeah, okay. Kax glanced around at the small room with a frown. I'm assuming all of these are hers?

Jeffery gave a silent okay and Kax shrugged off the ropes with a thoughtful look. He gave a small sniff. Many people have been here, I can smell their essences.You, the boy, the girl and...a wraith? Curious shock emanated from the demon.

Jeff sent back the fact that he was unaware and Kax's eyes flashed obsidian black. There's the trail. Let's go. He glanced over at the werewolf with mild concern. "You could track her with your own nose. What is it that you need me for? Keeping on a rope?" He chuckled slightly and started after the girl.

~~

Samuel Reynosa tugged at his sleeve with mild impatience. Derrick had gone out for dinner and still wasn't back. Annoyed, annoyed, annoyed. He grumbled something about not being able to go downtown, he stood up and paced in the living room. What if his guardian had been hurt? His dark eyes glittered unhappily and he realized he was going to need a relaxing walk.

He reasoned that the woods were adequate. Frowning and moving to his back door, he paused next to the glass. Derrick. Humans were too fragile for their world. He smiled slightly and reached up for the door handle.

The dark was comforting as a vampire, but Samuel could imagine how easy it would be for a human to be attacked in the night. Their eyes and ears and noses and..everything was dull and almost inusable. He frowned. Derrick.

PostSubject: Re: Getting things rolling.   Getting things rolling. - Page 2 EmptyFri May 14, 2010 2:02 am

She breathed in deeply. She was laying on the forest floor looking up at the dark sky. She could feel the leaves crackling in her hair as she moved her head to look to her left. She saw a bird hopping around at the base of a random tree, turning its head this way and that as it stared at her for a few moments. Seconds later it found something more interesting in the treetops, sending it flying above.

Her pretty dress was in tatters, but in her opinion it looked better. It was easier to move around with without all those extra... fabric. It now, officially, had "built in" feel.

"Dr. Ninja-Pants would be disappointed." She murmured to the plants around her. Pushing herself in a sitting position she smiled faintly. "He will be even madder that I skipped out tea party. He was really looking forward to it."

The blond eight year old stayed where she was for a few moments and just lazed about.

A sudden thought occurred to her. "Richard will be super peeved. I hope he isn't worried. Trisha too."

It seemed like the forest was just starting to become alive. Behind her were rustling bushes, deep calls of animals she could quite think the name of came from all around. To her right she could sense a medium sized raccoon shuffle around looking for something to munch on. She could smell the fresh dirt and leaves hanging to its fluffy fur, which was warming it from the cold night.

The night didn't bother her. Neither did the cold. She could feel it all right, but it just didn't bother her. She liked daytime; you could play outside and feel the sun on you, but the daytime was missing something.

The pure awesomeness of night. (( cheers Nighttime rules!))

Woxy pushed her hair out of her face and made a move to get up. Then froze. Along with everything else in the forest. They all seemed to sense something. That something was coming. She felt it herself.

Her skin prickled. Her noise twitched. The animal side of her screamed to either run or attack. She wasn't planning on doing either. Pushing herself into a crouching position she crawled on all four, not at all awkward, toward the giant roots of an equally giant tree. She pushed herself through them and found herself in the protection of the large, thick roots. It looked like a prison but felt immensely safe. She settled her self, trying to get comfortable to see what would happen next.

Usually, she would run away; like the animals of the forest had. But now... She decided she wasn't going to. Not today. Not again. She was going to sit her and await whatever fate had arranged her to do or see.

She broke of part of one of the roots to her far left, reaching immensely to grab it and held it against her chest.

Wouldn't be wrong to have some weapon. If that didn't work, she could always bite the thing. Or give it a Wet Willy. Whichever seemed right at the time.
Now that she was ready all she could do was sit back and wait.

From the moment he'd recovered from his anger he knew that Jeffery was different. Not completely different, but slightly different.

A flash of black eyes.

Just a quick flash, not even lasting one second. It was too fast for average eyes, but it was enough for his eyes to spot. The black obsidian was quite the opposite from the original white. Anyone could tell the difference between the two. Between a human's and a demon's.

Hmmm... Looks like you're more different than I imagined. Richard thought thoughtfully. No wonder he had the setup of an alpha. He held a demon within. You had to be tough and sturdy to hold one of those bad boys. Although some weren't all that vicious and pugnacious others were just down right animalistic. Demon's could turn their own containers insane. Lets hope I don't have to kill you.

It didn't surprise him when Jeffery just got up and walked away, taking no notice of the rope that had bounded him before. He'd expected it, from an demon and all. Who wouldn't? Of course he wouldn't be surprised.

Okay, maybe a little.

Sighing he jogged after the man he wasn't so sure was going to stab him in the back or not.

Trisha stopped, her legs posed for another step. Something familiar had stopped her in her tracks and caught her off guard. Patty slammed into the wraith with the force of a freight train. She gave a short bark of laughter and darted off in a different direction. Freedom, freedom, freedom! She squealed happily. Trish cowered away from the human as she realized what she had smelled. Demons. Kax. Demon. Kax the demon.

~~~
Sam shifted his weight to one foot, annoyance carved into his expression. He briefly glanced around at the trees that teemed with life and...death. Vines snaked around trees and choked out their energy. Bugs and parasites left behind baby bugs that killed the plants they were born on. At the top of the food chain were the humans. The humans were slowly cutting away at the trees.
Too bad.
I guess everyone just hates plants.
A sudden gust of wind made Samuel pause and sniff. What was that? A strong smell made him choke and cough. He shook his head, trying to get over the shock of the scent of a werewolf. Blinking and starting after the smell, he could identify the were as a girl. A small girl. Sam skipped over with a small frown and peered warily into the hole-like structure.
~~~

Kax glared around at the trees with pure annoyance. The pup and the wraith had split paths. He narrowed his eyes and they flashed obsidian again. Grumbling in frustration, he got up from his crouched position. "Shit." He rubbed his head, ruffling Jeff's hair.

You know her. Jeffery observed cautiously. Kax clamped down on the human with ferocity and stalked after the wolf pup.

((Finished. :DDD))

Woxy was terrified. To say in the least. When a face appeared above her, darkness washing over the features, hiding them from her, she squealed and whacked the figure with large root in her hand.

She hardly met new people or even encountered them. Richard and her were always moving around, trying to find safe places where they could live. She knew quite a number of werewolves and knew from experience that this wasn't a werewolf scent. Or a wraith for that matter. They had two smells on them; one from the host and one from the... guest.

She got her legs underneath her, bent them slightly with her muscles contracting and sprang over the dark figure. Changing forms instantly.

But she didn't change into the form she usually did. No, that was the weaker of the two, the one she most preferred. The small size and fluffy fur allowed her to have fun without making every other animal afraid.

Her other form was bigger than average grown wolf. With fur that was a clean and glossy white. Her once greenish blue eyes became a wild amber which locked on the threat at hand. The long tail that erupted out of her backside was swaying from side to side with agitation. A ferocious snarl came from deep within her throat. Scaring all the remaining animals from the small clearing. She was crouching low to the ground, crawling with grace in a circle around the potential threat.

Her mind was still her own. She had no primitive beast to compete control over. It only enhanced her ways of thinking, to that of the wild.
Few thoughts came to her now animal like mind. Kill. Threat. Protect Dr. Ninja-Pants. Kill. Kill.

Getting things rolling. - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Getting Things Rolling.   Getting things rolling. - Page 2 EmptyTue May 18, 2010 10:43 pm

Richard sniffed at the air, his nose catching many different aromas floating around. Running water from a nearby leak that was once a stream. Trees and brush all around him. Dampness of the snow. None of them meant anything to him at this moment. They weren't the thing he was looking for.

Rox's scent was no where to be smelled. The mix of strawberries and chocolate. Well, that was what she smelled like to him. it was he own scent. He cursed the snow for making the air so frigid, tracking someone almost impossible. Mother nature seemed to hate him. All the time.

Damn pup. He silently muttered. Always being a problem.

No matter what he did she always seemed to cause more trouble than she was worth. It was downright annoying. Irritating actually. Although, that was what made her his little pup. No other person could, or would, ever replace her. She was special. Everything she did was specifically her, and no one else would be able to copy that.

Lightly jogging through the wood, more of a run to most humans, Richard made his way once more to his pup. He had the hard case of déjà vu as he passed the same plants and creeks from earlier. All of this was similar from before. He had to go searching of Rox, who had sneaked out again. It was like a normal routine, but it wasn't. She had run out to the woods distressed, not because of boredom. It was similar, and yet different.

Richard promised that the next time he saw her that he'd apologize for not letting her be a simple, average kid. Everyone needed to be once in a while, including her.

As he made up his mind a breeze slowly wafted by, carrying something recognizable. He breathed in his savior. It was his pup's scent! Without another thought he bounded forward, twice the speed, following the smell like a hound.

Sam flailed and fell back as a girl werewolf jumped out at him. His vampire eyes barely caught the speedy change from girl to fully mature wolf. He instantly scrambled back to his feet as the wolf snarled at him. Samuel put his hands up, eyes wide. "Okay, okay. You've made our point. I guess I shouldn't have been quiet as I approached." He paused and noticed the involuntarily wary way she circled the small boy. He tilted his head to the side and stared. "Do you even know who-what I am?" He asked, no longer thinking of the missing human.

~~

Kax rolled his as the werewolf charged ahead. Mortals can be so irrational. He obviously can't smell the vampire. Kax snorted and stopped, turning back towards Jeffery's car.

It's one vampire, Jeff commented as he pulled the control away from the demon. I'm sure the two of them can take care of it. Which would mean it's a good time to go back after your girlfriend.

She's not my girlfriend. Merely an old acquaintance. Jeff laughed and started back the way they had come, back to where Trish's trail had separated from the pup's. "Well, I'm glad to be rid of those crazy bastards, anyways. Maybe your wraith friend is better company. She seemed nice."

Not. My. Girlfriend. Kax growled. Jeff rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just find her. I bet you two have some catching up to do."

Kax froze Jeffery's steps. You don't want to do that. She may seem well-tempered, but I assure you that she is not. I consider this putting yourself in danger and that gives me jurisdiction over your mortal body. "Fine we'll just...what the hell are we going to do then?"

Woxy stopped in her circling, not sure where to go from here. He had talked to her. Apologizing. Well, not really. But it was close enough.

She had noticed instantly that he looked to be about the same age as she was, just as short if not shorter. He looked innocent enough, but that wasn't what his scent was telling her. It screamed of something unnatural. Of something she should be wary of. Of a threat.

Although she was kinda scared she was also curious. Very curious.

She cocked her head to the side while her eyes searched for some kind of hint over what this stranger was going to do. He made no motion toward her or even to back away from her. He seemed cautious, almost wary of her. This bothered her. What would Dr. Ninja-Pants say when and if he saw her now?

He would say that I'm a big meanie-bo-beanie. That's what he would say.

Her wolf form breathed in deeply and huffed it all out through her nose. She looked at the small boy in front of her for a moment. Then her body began to form, back into the body she had previously occupied. Feeling her features change she closed her eyes in the quick moment it would take. After a millisecond it was done and she was left with her human form crouching on the ground.

Opening her eyes quickly in case the stranger attacked she straightened to a standing position. She tried to smile but knew it would look lopsided and weird, not reaching her eyes. Doing all this just for the sake of knowing what he was. And why he was here.

Richard always told her she was to curious for her own good.

Catching up to Richard's pup was easy, easier than anything really. easy as 1,2,3. Her scent was so familiar, the smell of cinnamon sticks with crushed leaves.

He followed it through the woods, over numerous rocks and other obstacles. He thought it would be a straight path, as it most often was, though to his surprise it was more complex, curving and abruptly turning into another direction.

She was serious... He didn't like the uneasy feeling that crept in his stomach. If she was serious than that meant that she truly was all out for leaving the territory. And if that was true than she would get into trouble with bigger and badder people-hunters, vampires, demons, etc.

Finally he found her, and when he did he raised his lips up, snarling. He jumped behind the vampire standing right in front of her, in a crouching position, ready to strike.

"Get away from her!"

(( o____0 Oh my goodness. I totally forgot about this roleplay. Razz Are we still even doing this anymore? I'm gonna reply anyway. Very Happy))

Woxy saw that dark shape that had suddenly appeared behind this stranger and heard the shout as clear as day. She was too caught up in the scene to have noticed the noise of his approach. The lip curling was a good sign of his current mood and his thoughts weren't far from deciphering after looking in those dark eyes of his.

Without a moments hesitation se launched herself in their direction. She wasn't able to see the boy's expression as she tackled her 'legal guardian' to the ground. Or at least she tried to tackle him to the ground but only succeeded to push him back a few paces. The end result with her in his arms looking up with a half angry half pleading expression on her face.

"Don't! If you attack my new er- friend then I'll never forgive you!" She felt her nails sharpen into miniture claws as she continued talking. "And that will also make me very angry..."

She may have looked and acted like a small child but she has been around quite longer than what her appearance announce. Richard should know this.
She knew that her mind set was still set as a child, as it always will be, but she could do grown-up things when she wanted to. Richard didn't have to baby her all the time! ... Just some of the time...

Samuel froze, his shoulders tensing up as yet another werewolf made an appearance. Stupid, stupid, stupid. He had been so caught up in this strange were-pup, that he had missed the approach again. He squeezed his eyes shut as the hot breath of the wolf guy hit him. He choked, mostly out of fear, but the guy seriously did need a mint. He slowly lowered his arms as the pup tried to defend his life by reasoning with someone she seemed to be close to.

He cleared his throat. "The, uh, leech would very much appreciate it if you did refrain from taking his life, as well." Sure, it wasn't an approach that he would have normally liked to take, but he was certainly outnumbered here, and devoid of his guard. It wasn't a situation in which he could show of his leadership, so he was resorting this sort-of-pleading.

Richard narrowed his eyes at the "leach" that had the guts to speak. Even though it looked like a kid, he knew what vampires could do. He'd face enough to know the pain and damage they could inflict on someone careless or unsuspecting. He snarled at the kid, showing his teeth.

Then he actually took notice at the fact that his Roxy had jumped out to him, trying to push him back (and failing). Why would she do that? For a leach? He He momentarily glanced down at the girl hanging onto him. She was staring at him with those puppy eyes again, the ones that she was an expert at executing. He hated when she did that. it always made him feel like a bad person.

Some of his anger faded away- it didn't disappear, just receded a little bit. He allowed for his lips to lower half an inch, but the snarling expression was still present on his face.

"Why are standing up for him?" He asked, anger in his tone, but not really directed at Roxy herself. "You know what he is."

(Wooh! FAIL. Hope you like it. AND NOW- BETH YOU BETTER STOP BUGGIN' THE CRAP OUTA ME!!!! >:CCCCC)

"Why am I standing up for him?" She repeated. Loosening her hold on Richard she sunk to the ground. The ground was cold beneath her bare feet.

"Well..." She bit her lip. Would it be okay to say that she just wanted to know what he was. But once she found out would Richard kill him? "I was just curious. And maybe he can... play tea party with me."

The last part trailed out weakly. Instead of looking Richard in the eyes she focused on his eyebrows. Which looked just as angry as they came together, but lacked the intimidating glare his eyes held. It didn't help that her argument wasn't very... concrete. I doubted very much that boys his age liked to play tea party, but it was the first thing to come to her mind.

"He wasn't doing anything to us. Just passing though, right?" Woxy didn't give the boy any time to respond, but continued in her excuses. Because that was what they were. Excuses. Excuses for this random stranger to live because of some mad reason she had(and didn't know). "Plus, look at him. He's totally short. Like a midget. And weak looking. I mean, really. Even I could take him on."

As if to prove her point she spun around and grabbed hold of one of his arms and brought it behind him. With a push he was on the ground with her on top, her knees riding into his spine. Her free hand brought itself down to push the boy's face into the dirt, ridding him of his speech for the moment.

Woxy bent her head in a way that her hair hid both their faces from view. She whispered into his ear "Please play along. I don't want to lose another friend today."

A second later she was looking up with big blue eyes. Her bottom lip stuck out. A face that no one could deny.
