Our Wraiths:
Our wraiths used to be human. No matter what personality or age, they were-at one point-a human soul. So, they are not without feelings and emotions. They're souls or essences grew unrest after a violent death, and if they were strong spirits, they eventually evolved into what we call the wraith. Each wraith is a shard of their former selves and require mortal bodies to become visible and real.
Wraiths, although once human, cannot feel the human emotions such as love, trust, and hate. Irritation and(though rare) fear are emotions that can be felt by them. They also have the unusual ability to feel the presence of souls(dead or alive) and can read their present thoughts(if there are any).
Feeding:
~Wraiths feed off of the liquid surrounding the brain. there is NO way to avoid killing prey unless they starve themselves. It just can't happen.
~Wraiths need to feed every 14 days, maximum. They can only feed once per day. If they feed more than that in a single day, they'll become weakened and suffer SERIOUS side effects.
The Bodies:
A wraiths mortal body will usually be alive when captured. Depending on the wraith, it will then 1) Kill it before taking it over 2)Let it deteriorate without food and water while it's being used 3)Keep it in good health by eating human food and brain juice. Sometimes, the body will be damaged in a fight or battle. If the human is alive, it will bleed. If the human is long past dead, no blood.
Corpses WILL begin to rot when the human dies. If the vessel is rotting, wraiths will(nowadays) GET RID OF IT. It is not to be kept for obvious reasons. They used to keep the bodies, but had to stop. That is how the whole "zombie" idea came around. Zombies were just wraiths.
Killing a Wraith:
~Silver is the universal killing method for wraiths. Touching it will burn them, being around it slows down their comprehension and reaction time, and being stabbed can cause serious injury and death.
